Hello, I am Louise of Tint_0 Design and here is a bit about my journey as a digital designer until now.
I started as a graphic designer working in a print shop some 10 years ago, and learnt very quickly about pressure, print and people who needed their jobs done yesterday. It was a good introduction to the world of print.
I then relocated to London and worked in the print department of Tower Records. This was a perfect fusion of what I loved, music and design. I was responsible, along with other like-minded folk to design the appearance of shop window front displays. We worked extensively with vinyl and large format printing, layering techniques and typography.
My next move was to study a course in 3D. After a short course and many late nights, I was ready for the challenges of this medium. This lead to a job at Climax Racing, a playstation gaming company in Brighton, UK. I learnt to model environment elements and texture them; I was also responsible for the HUD and front-end interface elements, and the sound to go with them. This was one of the most exciting experiences of my career: imagination that knew no boundaries; working alongside people who blew me away with their talent and skill sets.
I returned home to SA looking for my place here and it turned out to be in Web design. As self- taught UI designer, I worked in two Agencies (Glasshouse & Active Ice) before deciding to start my own freelance project Tint_0 design in 2008.
